Well this is what we've been waiting for. They came for her a few minutes after my last posting. They said she'll be between 1 and 2 hours in the procedure and then will come back up to her hospital room.
It is about 3:15 pm here so I'm guessing that I'll be posting again by 5:30 pm to let everyone know how things went. (12:30 in Nova Scotia, 9:30 am in Alberta).
Nothing to do now but wait, pray and hope for the best.
